Alamogordo, Space and a View
	Welcome to Alamogordo, New Mexico. Alamogordo is the southeastern New Mexico gateway to the Land of Enchantment. A town locals and New Mexicans refer to as "Alamo" is located just sixty miles from Las Cruces NM, an hour and a half drive time north of El Paso, TX and less than an hour's drive from the mountian resort towns of Cloudcroft and Ruidoso, New Mexico. Our town has a full calender of events and lots of civic pride.

Tourist Attractions and Events
	Alamogordo boasts many fun and interesting thing to do. The Alameda Zoo is the oldest zoo in the southwest. The nearly century old Toy Train Depot has a wonderful museum and gift shop as well as long train rides in the beautiful Alameda Park. Our town is just 15 miles from White Sands National Monument one of New Mexico's natural wonders. A must see is Oliver Lee State Park south of town which was the site of historic battles between the US Army and the area Apache tribes. The New Mexico Space Museum and IMAX theater are also "Don't Miss" experiences. Each year Alamogordo hosts a Hot Air Balloon Festival and the community's Fourth of July celebration rates as tops in the region.
