Markhor Goats live in the medium to high elevations of the Asiatic Mountains. This mountain goat is not a true goat, but a goat antelope. It's name markhor is derived from the Persian 'mar', meaning snake, and 'khor', eating. Markhor goats are herbivores eating grasses, leaves and twigs. Although, they have been known to kill snakes.
