Description: The North American River Otter once ranged from Alaska to Florida. Hunting, habitat loss, and pollution has caused this animal's population to shirnk in size. The river otter's diet consists mainly of fish, crayfish, and other aquatic invertibrates. They are often found in pairs, weigh about 10 kg, are about 1 to 1.5 meters long, can swim at speeds up to 29 km per hour and hold thier breath for up to 8 minutes. These river otters are very energetic and put on a playful display.
